SILK HAT AKIBA

シルクハット秋葉原

SILK HAT Akihabara has a specific place in the area’s arcade history: the operator presents it as the continuation of a site that has hosted games since 1992.

A change of operator, not a timeless map label

Matahari’s announcement says the store opened as SILK HAT on 22 November 2025 after taking over operations. It identifies 1-10-9 Sotokanda and describes nine floors, from basement level through the eighth floor. The announcement also traces the site to Sega Shintoku in 1992. Those facts explain why older names and photographs may differ from a recent listing.

Make the history useful

An editorial planning rule is to match an old recommendation to its street address and date before transferring it to the new name. A machine reported under an earlier operator cannot be assumed to have survived a reopening. The inherited OSM title is kept as source evidence; this article adds the operator’s account without rewriting the map record.

Before a game-specific visit

Use the linked operator page and the exact branch name to check the game, version and current floor. Ask about an individual cabinet if that is the reason for your trip. This review does not verify cabinet condition, queues, prices or same-day operation. The operator announcement is a historical and branch-identity source, not an inventory guarantee.
